Prescriptions

Please allow 48 hours (not including weekends) when ordering a repeat prescription.

Completed prescriptions may then be collected from the surgery or can be sent to a chemist of your choice, which you can nominate on Patient Access.

When you are issued with a repeat prescription, there is tear-off slip with your details and a list of your repeat medication printed on it.

To renew your prescription:

  • You can request online through Patient Access by clicking here

  • If you don't have a Patient Access account, you can request prescriptions through our online form by clicking here. 

  • You can tick the items required and place your request in the box at the surgery

  • If you have mislaid the tear-off slip you can write down the items you require on a piece of paper but please include your name, address and date of birth

  • If you choose to post your prescription request we will gladly post back your prescription but please enclose a Stamped Addressed Envelope for its return to you. The surgery address can be found on the Contact Us page.


Please note that the receptionists cannot take repeat prescription requests over the telephone

Prescription Charges

Most adults in England have to pay prescription charges.

Some items are always free, including contraceptives and medicines prescribed for hospital inpatients.

The current prescription charge is £9.65 per item.

A prescription prepayment certificate (PPC) could save you money on NHS prescription costs:

  • a 3-month PPC costs £31.25
  • a 12-month PPC is £111.60
  • a 12-month PPC for hormone replacement therapy (HRT) only is £19.30
